The Lake Norman Big Band began with a simple idea: bring people together through the timeless energy of big band music.
What started in 1998 as a small group of local musicians, and officially organized in 2007, has grown into a polished, 20-piece ensemble performing across the Lake Norman region and beyond.
For more than two decades, we've shared the stage with jazz icons, dancers, music lovers, families, and entire communities — celebrating the music that has shaped generations.
From the unmistakable swing of Count Basie, the sophistication of modern big band arrangements, and the unique interpretation of modern hits, our mission is to honor the tradition while inspiring new audiences with the power of live performances.
As a nonprofit ensemble, every rehearsal, every show, and every note we play is part of a larger purpose: educating the public, keeping this extraordinary musical tradition alive, and reimagining our favorite songs.
